Review & Giveaway of the Itzbeen Pocket Nanny!

Like most first time parents, remembering when my baby was last fed, changed, or even napped was a challenge. I’ll be honest, I was a complete WRECK six months ago when little Poppyseed was born. I tried to follow the rigid every 3 hours schedule doctors recommended but could never keep track of time because my memory span had shrunk to the size of a goldfish, I kid you not!  The minute I have a chance to sit and tried to collect myself, I was already up again to be at Poppyseed’s beck and call. For the longest time, Poppyseed would cry and I would throw him onto my boobs because I had no clue why he would cry. It was a quick fix, but never a long lasting solution.
I received the Pocket Nanny from Itzbeen to review when Poppyseed was 4 months of age.

The Pocket Nanny is a multi-purpose baby care timer designed to help new parents learn, remember, and communicate the basic details of baby care. Many new parents are overwhelmed and overtired, and have difficult time recalling simple tasks like: how long ago they last changed a diaper, fed the baby, or gave baby medication. It was developed by a couple who themselves faced “new parents challenges” and came up with a solution. Since it was launched in 2007, the Pocket Nanny has been sold in many countries and received rave reviews from new parents who deemed it as an absolute necessity. It received a 2007 Juvenile Product Manufacturing Association JPMA) Award and a 2007 iParenting Media Award for Best Baby Care Product.

After two months of testing out the Pocket Nanny, I must say I wish I knew about this gadget when little Poppyseed was first born!  It is very easy to use and it actually brought some structure and organization back into my life because it tracks when Poppyseed was last fed, changed, and napped and the alarm sounds off to remind me of the next cycle. Beats tracking with a pencil and calendar! I especially like the optional timer alarm that allows me to set a different alarm for each of the task. I no longer need to guess blindly. It even comes with a built-in nightlight and lock button to ensure the timer doesn’t get accidentally reset. Although light and compact, I do recommend the design of the case to be slimmer so it can fit into my pockets. Overall, great product for new parents and makes excellent baby shower gift!

  4. I hate to say this but honestly the reminder to feed my baby... I had a surgery on my stomach and I no longer feel hunger pains so I often forget to eat and therefore sometimes forget that other people get hungry unlike me so I always make sure I set my timer for breakfast lunch and dinner for my kids!

I love how it tracks last feedings because with two other kids to watch, sometimes that slips my mind.

  31. I remember when my son was first born... it was all I could do to remember what time he ate last, or what SIDE he ate on last. I tried the little wrist band, but I constantly forgot to change it. This would be SO helpful for the next baby!

  40. I love everything about it but if I had to pick one it would be the changing tracker. It is so easy to lose track of that stuff when you are busy caring for a baby.

    Thanks!
