Review & Giveaway of the Scanimation's GALLOP Lamp, a MUST HAVE!

Recently I visited a museum shop in Washington DC and discovered Scanimation® books! It is unlike any books I’ve ever seen, the pictures actually come to life when I flip each page! Scanimation® is a patented new technology invented by the great artist, Rufus Butler Seder, founder of Eye Think, Inc. It is a state-of-the-art six-phase animation process that combines the “persistence of vision” principle with a striped acetate overlay to give the illusion of movement. Check it out here:

I was so impressed with this new invention that I couldn’t resist buying a copy of the Wizard of Oz Scanimation® book. In it, Dorothy’s farmhouse would magically appear to be swept away by the twister, the Wicked Witch of the West would be melting to the ground, Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and Toto even dancing down the Yellow Brick Road! The special effects are so fascinating and captivating – it’s as though I was watching my all-time favorite classic film in a book! It truly brought a new and exciting experience to reading for me. Wish I had this while growing up, but I am very glad that my lil Poppyseed now has the opportunity to enjoy! It’s pure movie magic all in a book!
So far there are a few Scanimation® books - Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Waddle!, Santa, Swing, Gallop!, and more which I am determined to collect. To my surprise, there is even the GALLOP Scanimation Lamp which I fortunately received a sample to review.
The GALLOP! Scanimation® Lamp was just as mesmerizing as the books! It comes with six colorful sides and a selection of nine interchangeable animal panels. As it slowly turns, softly-glowing images of animals magically come to life! The penguins would waddle, the dolphin leaps out of the water and splashes back in the sea, the hummingbird beats its wings while dipping its beak into a flower, and more.

Lil Poppyseed and I really enjoyed watching the Gallop Scanimation Lamp turn as it brought endless hours of escape. It truly brought an enchanting and delightful experience! This technology was especially beneficial toward his development in visualization and imagination at such young age. One recommendation I have though is that it should come with soothing music to enhance the great escape. Overall, great invention and MUST HAVE for kids! Words truly cannot explain how amazing these Scanimation® products are.
The Scanimation GALLOP Lamp retails for $39.75. For more information on the books and lamp, visit http://www.eyethinkinc.com.
